Plan It Calgary

City council approved its far-reaching city planning documents today. The documents, code named Plan It Calgary, itemize and structure a growth plan for Calgary's near to distant future. With a 60 year realization period, Mayor Bronconnier says that the plans will "live a long time, be refined over time."
Hints of the type of refinement that may occur were witnessed in the days leading up to the documents' approval. The original plans had called for a target population density of 70 persons living in each developable hectare in new communities. The approved plan allows for 70 people either living or working.
